Kinetic Pty Ltd, 1989-2005.
Kinetic was founded in 1989 by inventor Chris Heyring . Its headquarters are based in Dunsborough, Western Australia. Kinetic's mission is to continue to undertake research and development of its innovative Kinetic Suspension System technology (KSS). Since the signing of a license deal with Toyota in 2002 (world first OE fitted Kinetic suspension see older news ), commercialisation has continued with Kinetic signing licence deals with vehicle manufacturers and Motor Sport companies. Mass volume manufacture of parts for OE fitment is in the final stages of development by Kinetic's owner, Tenneco Automotive .
The technology encompasses a unique range of passive suspension systems offering improved performance [handling, comfort, mobility] in both on road and off road conditions - and by so doing also improving the overall safety of the vehicle . Kinetic's uniqueness is its ability to 'break the compromise' in suspension design - this is achieved through an engineering concept unique to Kinetic called 'Passive Mode Decoupling' [PMD]. Patents for the KSS have been granted in various countries around the world, including the USA, Europe and Japan and further opportunities for intellectual property protection are continually pursued during the on-going process of research and development of the technology. As of June 2005, Kinetic's portfolio includes a total of approximately 98 patents (granted and pending) worldwide.
Kinetic has now evolved into a recognised world class suspension technology engineering centre. It has leading edge capabilities in modelling, design, prototyping and development of suspension systems for a diverse range of vehicle platforms and applications - including mass market 4x4's, Softroaders, luxury passenger cars, military and Motor Sport.
Kinetic has a team of highly qualified and experienced engineers and technicians, with facilities including 3D CAD , static and dynamic computational modelling, prototype machining, testing equipment and fully equipped workshops with secure and confidential work areas. Its location in the south western region of Western Australia provides the unique advantage of access to virtually unlimited natural terrain, on highway and asphalt circuit test facilities. The Kinetic team takes pride in its unique ability to produce innovative engineering solutions to customers specifications, 'fast tracking' prototyping and testing phases and also provides engineering support to OE production development programs.
